The Club shares the premises of the Little Ship Club on the north Thames river walk. See the contact page for directions.
Club Opening Hours:
Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 9.00 – 20.00 (or to 23.00 by approval of the Restaurant Manager)
Tuesday/Friday 9.00 – 17.00
The Club is closed at weekends, Bank Holidays, Christmas and New Year, and occasionally in the evening when events are being held.
Clubroom and Bar – a quiet location with comfortable seating to meet friends, have lunch or a drink or just spend time quietly. In Summer the outside terrace area makes a pleasant place to read the paper and admire the view. Newspapers are delivered daily.
Dining Room – tables from 2 up to large groups an be accommodated, and there is a Club Table for a good-value lunch.
Library – the Club has a unique collection of books relating to the history of Livery Companies and the City of London. This room can also serve as a meeting or dining room for up to 50 people.
River Room – a small meeting room seating up to 8 people.
Claud Worth Room – a meeting or dining room for up to 18 people.
Cabins – these are cabin-sized rooms with 2 bunks and private shower, available at a modest price during the week (except Tuesday) and at weekends.
Members may hire meeting rooms at preferential rates.
A new company Bovingdons, has taken over the catering and function / meetings contract from 1 April 2019. They can be contacted at Charlotte@bovingdons.co.uk or on 020 8874 8032. There is also a special deal for members wishing to hold a meeting for at least 10 people, followed or preceded by a lunch – details from ITA/ Bovingdons.
Members may bring guests into the Club.
Ladies are welcome as Members and as guests.
Meals and refreshments:
Breakfast (bacon rolls, toast, cereals) is available from 9.00-10.30, and tea/coffee all day.
Lunch from 12.30 to 14.30, last orders 14.15. The lunch options are:
– bar meals in the Clubroom area.
– à la carte meal in the restaurant.
– the Club table offering a good-value set meal each day, with soup and a main dish and coffee; this table cannot be booked and only one guest per Member is allowed on this table.
Afternoon tea is served between 15.00 and 16.30.
Club Usage Rules:
The Clubroom and Restaurant may not be used for formal business meetings, but modest numbers of business papers are permissible provided other Members are not disturbed. In the Clubroom, laptops may only be used between 10.00–12.00 and 15.30-17.00, and not in the dining room. WiFi is available. Mobile telephones, music, video and games players may only be used in the Reception area and the cabins. Smoking is not permitted. Minimum dress code is smart-casual.
Members may book the Little Ship Club’s cabins, except on Tuesdays. These are managed by the Little Ship Club who can be reached on 020 7236 7729 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. Members wishing to access the cabins need an electronic access card – please ask the Clerk for one, giving at least several days notice since we need a little time to create it and get it to you. From 29 April 2019, cabins cost £70 for single use and £80 for double use.
